(Rosita at 4pm, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 – PAGASA) |
Typhoon Rosita (Yutu) is now moving downward changing its course and is said to landfall over Aurora-Isabela instead of Cagayan-Isabela as earlier forecasted by PAGASA.
In a 5 p.m. weather update, PAGASA’s Aldzar Aurelio said that based on latest satellite data, Rosita swerved downward on Sunday afternoon from its original path, however it maintained its speed and strength.
PAGASA said that Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal 1 (TCWS 1) might be hoisted over some areas Sunday night.
But while no TCWS has been hoisted yet, PAGASA has issued gale warnings over the eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Visayas and Surigao in Northern Mindanao, Aurelio said.
Rosita may bring torrential rains within its cloud band of 800 kilometers in diameter. The same as the rainfall during Typhoon Ondoy, Aurelio said.
