The suspect in the road rage incident that was caught on CCTV was arrested in Tarlac City. The police identified the suspect as Jojo Valerio, a 30-year-old entertainer from Quezon City.
He was arrested through hot pursuit operation by police and was cornered during his gig in Tarlac City.
Valerio was driving an SUV bearing the plate No. “8” reserved for members of the House of Representatives figured in a road rage that went viral online. In the video, he is seen repeatedly punching a motorist.
According to earlier reports that the suspect claimed to be the son of a certain congressman, but Valerio denied any relation to the political Lazatin clan of Pampanga and he would not say how he was got the courtesy plate.
Police were able to find witnesses in Mabalacat, Pampanga who confirmed the identity of the suspect as seen in another viral video that happened on Sunday in Balibago, Angeles City. He was was positively identified by the victim.
The vehicle involved in the incident is currently being tracked down by Police since the suspect transferred to a Starex vehicle after the incident.
