BREAKING: Tacloban City and the whole of Eastern VIsayas now on Red Alert Status

TACLOBAN CITY –  The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has put the whole of Region 8 on red alert status due to the possible effects of TD Samuel which will make landfall tonight in Eastern Visayas.
In a radio interview by RMN Tacloban of Rayden Cabrigas, Information Officer of OCD VIII, he advised residents in areas that will be affected by Samuel to evacuate.

“Red alert warning status na kita so heavy rain downpour talaga it expected, so ha mga mountainous areas gihap an mga prone to landslide and flooding as well as an harani ha kadagatan kun pwede mag-ikmat na kita ngan kun mag-evacuate pag-evacuate na.”
(We are now on red alert warning status because of the heavy rainfall so for those residents from mountainous areas that are prone to landslide and flooding too and those near shorelines to evacuate.)
Meanwhile, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Manangement Office (CDRRMO) of Tacloban City, residents from Apitong, Nula-tula, Abucay, Diit, Tigbao, Palanog area, Tagpuro, Suhi, Sto. Nino and Cabalawan are advised to evacuate.
Based on the PAGASA weather bulletin, Samuel will make landfall on Dinagat-Samar-Leyte early evening of Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Brando Bernadas, Head han CDRRMO, said that their office has already ordered pre-emptive evacuation to residents in coastal barangays and has already coordinated with the barangay captains.
“An aton mga kapitan aton na ini gin-coordinate, magpapatuman kita hin pre-emptive [evacuation] an ira makikit-an nga dapat gud ig-evecaute in igpapa-evacuate dayon naton.”
(We have alrady coordinated with the barangay captains to implement pre-emptive [evacuation] everyone that needs to be evacuated will be evacuated.)
