CEBU CITY – There was “no foul play” in the death of PAG-IBIG accounting assistant who reportedly jumped from the rooftop of the PAG-IBIG Corporate Tower, according to the Mabolo Police Station.
The victim, Anthony Ang, 24 sustained severe damage to his head and body died at 6:37 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, after he leaped from the 12-storey building.
Mabolo Police homicide investigator, SPO1 Antonio Din said family problems may have pushed the victim to commit suicide. Din talked to the victim’s sister and revealed that Ang had problems with his family but didn’t give other details.
To confirm if there was no foul play in the death of Ang, they will submit the victim’s body to an autopsy. This will still be done despite the account of the security guard of the building who saw Ang alone on the rooftop through the CCTV and tried to stop him but was too late.
His officemates said he was a quiet person and they did not notice anything unusual with him before the incident except that he was absent on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Ang who was from Biliran Province and joined PAG-IBIG in April this year.
One of his officemates, Marelie Capocong received which seemed like a goodbye message from the victim before the incident.
“Pakisabi kay Mam Weng sorry kasi di ako nakapagpaalam. Pakisabi din na salamat sa lahat2 lalo na sa LAD. Salamat, Mam. Ingat kayo lagi (Please tell Ma’am Weng I am so sorry I wasn’t able to say goodbye. Also tell everyone in LAD thank you. Thank you, Ma’am. You take care always),” the message read.
