MANILA – Police arrested 4 Chinese nationals  after a Chinese woman’s mutilated body was found inside their condominium unit in Makati City, Thursday night, Nov. 22.
The suspects were as Zhang Chuning, Zhang Cha Quan, Wang Xue, and Zhang Xixi.
The mutilated body of the victim was identified as 26-year-old Wang Yalei and was found placed inside 4 bags that were found in Zhang Chuning’s condo unit on the 11th floor of Lerato Residence Tower 1 in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City.
According to Makati police, the crime was discovered when the housekeeping found a nylon bag containing bloodied clothes and a kitchen knife at the recovery facility of Lerato Residence Tower at around 6:30 p.m..
The security guards then reviewed the closed-circuit television (CCTV) of the building and found that it was disposed of from the 11th floor and proceeded to Unit 1116 where they saw bags containing the dismembered body of the victim.
“The guards and employees saw the bags containing the chopped body parts. They then immediately called the police,” Director Guillermo Eleazar, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, said.
Eleazar said that the victim was mutilated around 4 a.m. on the same day.
He said Zhang Chuning confessed that she stabbed Wang Yalei several times when she was able to take the knife from the victim.
Eleazar said the suspect narrated that Wang Yalei was about to stab Zhang Chuning during their heated argument, but the latter was able to take the knife and stab her (Wang Yalei) instead.
Wang Yalei’s body was chopped into six pieces and placed inside the nylon bags while her chest was found inside a luggage.
They reportedly had a drinking session before the incident inside the condominium of Zhang Chuning.
“After talking to Zhang Chuning, we are now eyeing love triangle as the motive,” the NCRPO chief said.
He added that the suspect and the victim are both members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community.
The suspects are now detained at the Makati police headquarters’ detention cell.
