A temporary closure order of Hennan Resort was issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue in Central Visayas for its failure to issue receipts and for under declaration of gross receipts.
According to Director Ed Pagulayan of the regional office of the BIR, a surveillance was conducted by the bureau for two months and issued a 48-hour notice for the resort to comply with the requirements.
“Their (Bohol Hennan Resort Inc) gross receipt is under-declared by more than 30 percent. That’s the violation,” said Pagulayan.
Director Pagulayan didn’t mention how much Hennan owed the government except that the amount was “substantial.”
Legal counsel of the resort, Alex Siu explained that these was due to lapses in their system that led to their violation. Hennan was opened again after paying a fine but is still subject to an in-depth examination by the BIR.
