MANILA—Over 100 distressed Overseas Filipino Workers arrived in Manila from Damman, Saudi Arabia through the assistance of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) on Saturday, December 8.
The repatriated OFWs were workers of Al Azmeel Contracting and Construction Corporation, Rakkan Trading and Contracting Company, at SAMAMA Company for Operation and Management. They said that they are happy to be home because they will be able to celebrate Christmas with their families but they also feel sad because there are no jobs waiting for them here.
According to OWWA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac that they will be given financial assistance.
Cacdac gathered their biodata for possible employment with the government as construction workers for its Build Build Build program.
