PAGASA: LPA turns into Tropical Depression Usman

THE LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) EAST OF MINDANAO HAS DEVELOPED INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION AND HAS ENTERED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (PAR).
– Tropical Depression #UsmanPH entered the PAR at 3:00 PM today.
– Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals may be raised over the provinces in Eastern Visayas and Northern Caraga tomorrow (December 26). Possible disruption in maritime travel should be expected in these areas.
–  #UsmanPH has no direct effect on any part of the country at the moment. However moderate to heavy rains associated with this Tropical Depression may begin affecting Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands beginning late evening tomorrow or Thursday morning (December 27). Residents of these areas, especially those living near river channels and in low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
Location of eye/center: At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “USMAN” was estimated based on all available data at 945 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (08.4 °N, 134.9 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 60 km/h
Forecast Movement: Moving Northwest at 20 km/h

24 Hour(Tomorrow afternoon): 765 km East of Maasin City, Southern Leyte(10.1°N, 131.8°E)
48 Hour(Thursday afternoon):315 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar(11.1°N, 128.6°E)
72 Hour(Friday afternoon): In the vicinity of Basey, Samar(11.4°N, 125.2°E)
96 Hour(Saturday afternoon):70 km East Southeast of Coron, Palawan(11.8°N, 120.8°E)
120 Hour(Sunday afternoon):365 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan(12.2°N, 116.5°E)
NO TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next update to be incorporated in the 4 PM Public Weather Forecast and in the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
