CEBU CITY – Cebu City and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) puts up 50 eco-stations for this week’s major activities of the Sr. Santo Nino feast day celebration.
DENR Regional Technical Director (RTD) of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Engr. William Cunado said the 50 eco stations are to be up in the procession and parade routes by the Cebu City Government under the Department of Public Services.
They also partnered with Guun Corporation, a waste recycling company to collect all the residual wastes on those days.
“The public can throw all their wastes in the proper disposal sacks depending on the waste’s characteristics be it biodegradable, recyclable and residual,” Cunado said.
There will also be EMB7 employees who will be deployed to assist man the station making sure that the public throw their garbage properly.
Last year the Department of Public Services (DPS) collected over a hundred ton of garbage after the Sinulog festival. FCC
