MANILA – A low pressure area (LPA) approaching towards the country may intensify into a storm when it enters the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), PAGASA said.
It was spotted 2,395 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur and will enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday afternoon or evening.
The country’s first storm this year will be named Amang, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, the amihan or the northeast monsoon has reached Mindanao and may bring isolated rains across the country.
Temperatures may slide to 20 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 13°C in Baguio, 18°C in Tagaytay, 24°C in Cebu, and 23°C in Davao and Zamboanga cities.
