Based on the initial investigation, Castro was shot 5 times and managed to drive a hundred meters when the car rammed into a wall of GI sheets before coming to a halt. Witnesses said the lone assailant was onboard a motorcycle.
Chief Inspector Eduard Sanchez, the chief of Station 2 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said they will look into personal grudge and her work as prosecutor as possible motives.
The shooting took place even as the police are on alert due to this weekend’s Sinulog celebration.
Castro was considered a controversial prosecutor, having been suspended three times. She was assigned in Masbate before her death.
