Foreigner attending the wake of his wife, stabbed to death

TACLOBAN CITY – A foreigner was stabbed to death while attending the wake of his wife in Poblacion District II, MacArthur Leyte, Sunday. According to reports from the PNP MacArthur identified the victim as Dennis Mark Jones, an American National, 70 years old and a resident of Bukidnon Province.

Based on the investigation, Jones attended the wake of his wife and while he was having a conversation with other visitors, the suspect Richard Hurley of legal age and a residenf of Poblacion District III, MacArthur went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife then started stabbing the victim. Jones was declared dead on arrival at Abuyog Leyte District Hospital.

According to witnesses, the suspect which is the nephew of the Jones’ wife was mad at the victim for not taking care of his aunt while she was sick until her death. The suspect is detained at the MacArthur PNP lock-up cell.
