“Gikan siya nitambong sa hearing sa iyang kaso (He just came from the hearing of his case), Police Major Aldrin Villacampa, the Mandaue City Police Office Station 1 Chief told Newsph.org.
Citing the accounts of eyewitnesses Villacampa said that the gunman shot Yap when the nearby traffic light in F. Seno Highway in Barangay Guizo was on a stop signal.
The place of incident was infront of the Palawan pawnshot in the area.
After the shooting, the gunman and his motorcycle driver who both wore full faced closed helmets sped off towards the Mandaue flyover.

Based on the manner of the shooting, the gunman was an expert marksman as not a single bullet missed as Yap was hit in the nape, face and head. All bullets pierced and shattered the window glass on the driver side of the vehicle.
“Pulos gyud igo kay tulo ra man ka shell sa .45 caliber ang among nakuha (It all hit him because we recovered three spent shells of .45 caliber), Villacampa added.
Yap along with a certain Richard Ngo Go were arrested in a buy bust operation inside the R Suites Cafe in A.C. Cortes Street, Barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue last January 12, 2018.
