He is still in grade 8 in the Alternative Learning School (ALS) but the police on Friday night caught him in the possession of shabu worth P31 million. Raven Bardon Gonza, 20, of Sitio Blackcats, Barangay Duljo-Fatima denied owning the illegal drugs but the operatives of the Mambaling Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) seized 4.6 kilograms of shabu placed at P31, 280, 000.00 in street value price.
“Dili man na ako Sir, estudyante ra man ko sa ALS,” Gonza alias Raven told Newsph.org when interviewed inside the Mambaling police detention cell where he is jailed pending the filing of criminal charges against him.
In a spot report to Cebu City Police Director Colonel Royina Garma, the team of Mambaling DEU led by Police Capt. Francis Renz Talosig, Gonza was the subject of their buy-bust operation past 8pm. The operation was jointly conducted by the Cebu City Police Mobile Force Company and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Gonza allegedly initially handed over 1 medium pack of shabu to a police poseur buyer worth P50, 000.00 but were surprised to found more as the suspect allegedly brought a backpack at that time.
Inside the backpack were 18 medium transparent plastic packs and 4 large packs that weighed 4.6 kilograms. The 4.6 kilograms worth P31 million shabu is the second biggest accomplishment of the Cebu City Police Office this year. Just last March 3, P190 million were confiscated in two separate operations, 28 kilos of shabu were confiscated from a certain Elymar Ancajas in Inayawan and later on to Marcial and Marilyn Encila in Consolacion where the Pardo police conducted a follow-up operation in coordination with their counterparts of the town.
The Encilas were collared with 10 kilos of shabu after their daughter, Jocelyn, transacted with an undercover cop as she was confined to a hospital at that time. Ancajas who was caught with 18 kilos of shabu tagged Jocelyn as his supplier where the police also discovered that Jocelyn is operating under the Rustico Ygot drug group inside the New Bilibid Prisons. Ygot, the boyfriend of Jocelyn, would give instruction through the internet even while in jail, the police learned.
