A Cebuana coed who is among the pre-pageant favorite for Miss Teen Philippines 2019 Central Visayas had been declared disqualified.
She was among the 25 who was earlier picked from the 63 that joined the screening last March 3 but its organizers discovered that she is overaged.
“It is with heavy heart that we informed her of the circumstances. She already turned 19 and the Manila people said that because of age qualification, she can not qualify for the pageant,” Miss Teen Philippines regional coordinator Dexter Alazas told NewsPh.org.
Alazas said that the teenager just submitted her birth certificate yesterday for a round of pictorials and rehearsal where they discovered about her actual age, explaining that the pageant will only allow 14-18 years old.
Three of the bets failed to bring their birth certificates during the screening and that the handler/manager of the teener might have overlooked the age qualification.
“She already turned 19 last February and her handlers might have overlooked it,” Alazas surmised.
Since one was taken out, only 24 will vie for the Miss Teen Philippines 2019 Central Visayas crown where the runners-up will join the Miss Teen Philippines 2019 pageant in Metro Manila on May 7.
Miss Teen Philippines 2014 Reissha Nicole Villar- Magadia will relinquish her crown to this year”s winner as the pageant had just restarted after
