No less than the top cop of the country will present to the Cebu media tomorrow the new arrested suspect of the gruesome murder of Christine Lee Silawan.
PNP Chief General Oscar Albayalde said that they will confer first with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as a courtesy to the agency who earlier has filed a murder case against the 18 year-old former boyfriend of the mass alms collector.
“We can not consider it solve yet although malaki ang tsansa natin na ito talaga ang gumawa. Ito talaga ang gumawa but of course that is in respect of the investigation that was conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation as I said bukas ilalabas natin yan dahil ngayon makikipag coordinate muna tayo sa National Bureau of Investigation,” Albayalde told reporters in Tagbilaran City today where he made a visit.
Police Regional Director Brigadier General Debold Sinas said that they are already completing their evidence against the suspect whom he described as 42 years-old father of five from Lapu-Lapu City.
Sinas revealed that the suspect had made an “extra judicial confession” of the incident and that it will be made public through the media once everything will be completed.
The PRO7 chief requested that the complete details will be off for public release yet but he said that the suspect was “obsessed” with the victim who made constant communications with the girl through the internet.
“Personally during personal interview obsession, obsession with the girl. Nag-obsess gyud siya sa babaye kasi kabalo na siya sa babae, kaila na siya sa babae, ang babae nailhan lang niya through exchanges sa txt ug sa messenger,” Sinas told reporters.
Sinas revealed that the suspect admitted being a drug user and has been included in their drug watch list.
The regional police director said that the victim has the habit of “duping” young girls.
“He lives in the area Lapu-Lapu. His been duping young girl, tapos he is a drug user at same time pusher siya,” Sinas said.
The suspect is already facing charges of illegal possession of firearms as he was caught inflagrante delicto of possessing a .45 caliber pistol when accosted by a Lapu-Lapu City cop yesterday morning.
Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor Ruso Zaragoza also refused to tell to the media the name of the suspect who was escorted by fully-armed policemen when he was brought to his office for the filing of charges.
