“POLICE MULLS USING MEDIA INTERVIEW AS EVIDENCE AGAINST SILAWAN SUSPECT”

The police are mulling to use as part of their evidence the very first media interview of Renato Llenes in admitting the killing of Christine Lee Silawan. Regional Police Director Brigadier General Debold Sinas bared this plan in an exclusive interview with iNews.ph.

“We will use it as part of our evidence”, Sinas told this reporter in Canlaon City over the weekend where he also showed the video recorded extrajudicial confession of Llenes on the crime apart from the news video that they also intend to include as their evidence.

The interview was done by GMA7-Cebu reporter Lou Anne Mae Rondina and aired over Balitang Bisdak anchored by the multi-awarded Bobby Nalzaro. Rondina got the scoop interview last April 10 where she was able to cover the walk-through to the crime scene of the suspect from the Sacred Heart Parish church in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City up to the vacant lot in Barangay Bankal where Christine Lee was killed last March 10.

In the said news report, Llenes demonstrated how he stabbed Christine Lee including the position on how he was about to rape her including on he peeled off the face of the victim by just using a scissor. Sinas said the case to be filed against Llenes would be murder and possibly attempted rape depending on the recommendation of their legal department.

Meanwhile, Sinas said that if the mother of Christine Lee would continue to refuse in signing the affidavit of complaint against Llenes, they will push through with the filing of the charges once the father of Christine will sign it. “Naa siyay gipangayo nga lain nga dili namo mahatag.

Gusto niya i-uban sa kaso ang boyfriend which we could not xxx xxx xxx Ikaduha gusto gyud niya nga naay rape” Sinas revealed the reasons on the adamance of Christine Lee’s mother in signing the complaint. Lourdes Silawan, the mother reportedly went to Bohol and is trying to evade the police.

Lapu-Lapu City Police Director Colonel Limuel Obon is making an effort though to reach out to Lourdes. Gen. Sinas explained that based on the evidence that they gathered, they can not really implicate the former boyfriend of the victim. The former boyfriend was earlier arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) but Llenes said that he was alone in killing Christine Lee.
