Island Water Transport, a subsidiary of Shogun Ships Co., Inc. has inaugurated two catamarans which will navigate the Cebu City-Tagbilaran City route daily.
Shogun Ships Co., Inc, a Manila-based shipping firm has been in the business of domestic shipping transporting petroleum products from refineries to consumer’s storage tanks and oil marketer’s depots.
Vicente Cordero Jr., Shogun Ships Co., Inc. Chairman, and CEO said: “After serving and learning the standards of the oil companies which is rigid and after being audited by surveyors from Singapore once or twice a year we thought of contributing to the passenger ferry.” He also boasts of being compliant to the rules and regulations set forth of the International Maritime Organization.
Cebu routes are Island Water Transport entry to the passenger ferry. Their Hagnaya-Santa Fe vice versa routes had its inaugural run last April 16, 2019. Last May 8, 2019, Island Water Transport, started to offer four round trips between Cebu City and Tagbilaran City using 2 brand new vessels, the Island Biri and Island Calayan.
According to their Marketing Manager, James Gabriel Verallo their catamarans are complete with 5 clean toilets, a fully-air-conditioned cabin, free internet connections, and free movie screening.
The vessels depart from Cebu City at 5:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. The schedule is shadowed in the port of Tagbilaran. Prices are at Php 475.00 for economy class and Php 675.00 for business class.
