CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES- The earlier cellphone text messages that reported them as suspected drug pushers proved right when the Mabolo police arrested them early dawn today in a mountain barangay here. Adrian Cabriana, 34, Harcel Paul Batatas, 24 and Richard Bacayan, 28, were arrested past 4:00 A.M. in Sitio Patag, Barangay Bonbon.
The three, according to Major Dindo Alaras, Mabolo police station chief, were reported of their alleged illegal activities through text messages in the Itug-an ni CD (City Director) Facebook page of Cebu City Police Director Colonel Royina Garma.
A buy-bust operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was thus launched which proved positive. Cabriana alias Arjan was the main target of the operation in the Synchronized Enhanced Managing Police Operations (SEMPO) ordered by no less than Regional Police Director Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas.
Based on their report to the PRO7 headquarters Cabriana was caught having a homemade .38 caliber revolver with two bullets and 7 sachets of heat sealed transparent medium plastics of shabu while Batatas had in his possession 3 sachets.
Bacayan who is from the nearby Brgy. Buot Taup was caught having dried leaves of marijuana placed in a plastic sachet. Meanwhile, at about 6:00 A.M., a separate operation in Sitio Caduloy, Barangay Tisa, a certain Mike Vincent Oliamot, 22, was arrested by a team of operatives from the Punta Princesa police station.
Described as “high-value target (HVT),” Oliamot from Sitio Ponce 1, Barangay Carreta was caught having 110 grams of believed to be shabu. Placed in 22 sachets, the drugs which included “brown colored” in 20 sachets out of the 22 were estimated to have a street value of P748, 000.00.
Colonel Garma once described “brown colored shabu” as more potent and of higher quality than the white colored shabu. In May this year, drug suspect Marvin Saberon alias Ogis, was arrested with brown shabu in Barangay Mabolo where Garma revealed that the shabu from Saberon has more potent effect./AAJ
