ANOTHER WOMAN WILL ASSUME AS CEBU CITY CHIEF OF POLICE, MANDAUE AND LAPU HAVE NEW CHIEFS TOO

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Another woman police official is set to assume as the new chief of police of Cebu City. “That’s confirmed,” Police Regional Director Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas told reporters yesterday when asked if another woman police officer would replace Col. Royina Garma who will be the next General Manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Sinas said once incoming Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella will approve their recommendation, PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde will give the orders for Vinluan to assume immediately. Sinas said earlier that he prefers another woman to replace Garma.

“We are hoping, that’s why we are selecting already nga kung kinsa ang mupuli sa iyaha. Kung ako ang inyong pangutan-on, mas gusto nako babae gihapon,” adding, ” of course its important that it should be accepted by the mayor but there are times that the PNP exercises its right which is deemed necessary.

Of course, we have discussions with the incoming and I think he (Labella) is okay with our recommendation,” Sinas said. Vinluan the current chief of the Women and Child Protection Desk (WCPD) in Camp Crame is a classmate of Garma in the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) 1997 class.

Meanwhile as requested by incoming Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, a new chief of police will also assume in Mandaue City. Colonel Julian Entoma swapped places with Col. Jonathan Abella, the present chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division.

Lapu-Lapu City will also have a new chief of police as requested by incoming City Mayor Junard Chan. Col. Limuel Obon will swap places with Col. Clarito Baja as chief of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division./AAJ
