The Court Kingz, a United States-based streetball tour, will be bringing their flashy and entertaining brand of basketball to Cebu when they face off against Cebuano hoops legend, DondonHontiveros and the Jump10 Philippine Team in an exhibition game on August 3, 2019, at the University of San Jose-Recoletos gym in Basak.

Founded way back in 2004 by brothers, Victor and Simon Martinez, in Richmond, Virginia, Court Kingz has since developed into an inspirational tool to impact young people all over the world. Their electrifying hardcourt exploits — which include eye-popping dribbling skills and high-flying dunks — have been seen and featured on prominent channels such as ESPN, Bleacher Report, BallisLife and Slam Magazine.

The Court Kingz has already made stops in many different countries including China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Bahamas, Ecuador, Venezuela, Dominican Republic. The Court Kingz Philippine stop is being organized by Apex Sports — a Cebu-based company that seeks to provide the Filipino athlete the right platform to showcase their skills.

“This is a great opportunity for the Cebuanos to watch the country’s best players play against America’s finest basketball players,” said Executive Producer Pat Maluya, of Apex Sports.

The Court Kingz have already arrived in Cebu last July 25 and will be conducting basketball clinics, motivational talks and local exhibition games all around the island as part of their Summer Tour 2019. They will also be dropping by local basketball courts as part of their “Crash the Court” campaign.

The activities are aimed at motivating the youth to participate in sports that would lead to better engagement with future local government unit programs. The Court Kingz will be in Talisay City on July 26 and 27, before making their way to the Cebu Fourth District on July 28 to 31. Then, they head over to Cebu City on August 1 to 6.

The exhibition game serves as a culminating event of the Court Kingz Philippine Tour. Hontiveros, who won three PBA championships with the San Miguel Beermen and Alaska Aces and a former member of the national men’s basketball team, will lead the local team that will face off with the Court Kingz.

With him are the members of the Jump10 Philippine Team which will be representing the country in the Jump10 World Hoops Challenge in Shanghai, China in August. Ticket prices for the exhibition game on August 3 are set at P500 for courtside, P350 for the lower box and P200 for the upper box.

About Apex Sports

Apex Sports was founded behind a strong passion for sports. We love the competition, the intensity, the drama, and the camaraderie it brings. Not only can it help propel people to become better, but it can also bring everyone together.

At Apex Sports, we believe in the heart of an athlete. Whether you are a professional, a student, or a recreational athlete, what ties everyone together is that heart to succeed, to keep pushing one’s limit to be better.

We support these athletes by providing them the right platform to showcase their talents and skills; a proper platform that they themselves would be proud of being a part of.

Our mission is to empower these athletes who dedicate themselves to become better, who compete with one another with fire in their hearts but become brothers and sisters off of the playing field. We aim to capture these emotions and turn them into motivations for other athletes to aspire to.

We see a future where both players and fans unite for a common purpose, to grow and build the sport that they love.
