The Department of Social Welfare Services or DSWS daycare teachers and workers celebrated the Buwan ng wika with the theme, “Wikang Katutubo: Tungo sa isang bansang Pilipino” at Cebu city Sports institute.
Teachers from different districts emphasized the Filipino culture through costumes and their different stalls that they decorated creatively and with a display of filipino delicacies and foods.
One district has a variety of delicacies from the different provinces of Cebu, others have favorite Cebuano viands or meals or other term as “Binisaya”, there are also vegetables and organic juices like camote top juice.
They also showcased the different kinds of Filipino dance.
“For all the youth, I would like to emphasized not to forget the Buwan ng Wika because it is our origin and our marked as a Filipino.”, said DSWS ECCD Program Head, Marivic Alolod.
The Cebu city government also actively supported the program and Vice Mayor Michael Rama also attended the event.
