Mass graduation ceremony for TESDA Scholars under the construction sector today at Robinson’s Galleria Cebu Around 500 scholarship beneficiaries from the different Technical-Vocational institutions of Cebu received their training certificates.
TESDA supports the Build build build program of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and as a response to the Build Build Build Infrastructure program, the agency have been implementing the train to build build build project through the construction cum training model and other special training arrangements.
They graduated from the different skills training programs and courses from different institutions brought about by the free education program by Republic Act No 100000931 “Apart from that, President Duterte also signed Republic Act 11230 earlier this year.
This is also known as the “Tulong Trabaho Act” which seeks to provide free access to technical-vocational education to qualified recipients to address the problem of job-skills mismatch. These are all in line with the President’s thrust in providing happy and comfortable lives for all.” Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino said from his speech.
“The plan aims to help Filipino skilled workers get employed or gain entrepreneurship opportunities, and for the country to attain global competitiveness. All government agencies are urged to support the implementation of EO No. 83, so TESDA will equip our trainees with the necessary skills and once they have acquired them, the other agencies will come in to help our graduates in looking for gainful employment.”, he added. Moreover, TESDA is closely coordinating with LGU’s, DPWH, DoTR, and construction companies to assist in the employment of the graduates.
