“Hahay” is Melody Hodgson’s recording debut and foray into songwriting. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine winning an award this early in her career. Her bisaya song masterfully produced by Cattski Espina and released by Viva Records earned her the best regional recording award at the recently concluded 32nd Awit Awards.
Growing up, she was into pageantry mainly because of the talent portion where she could showcase her singing prowess and dancing skills. She took a year-long hiatus in the UK after graduation to tend to family matters but came back to Cebu armed with a good song.
She is set to release by mid-November her sophomore single “Sabihin Mo Na,” a powerful ballad that she painstakingly produced herself, adding yet another feather to her cap. (PR)
