Playoffs bound: Team RP Mora Dribblers (Red shorts, dark jersey) defeated Amigos (all dark uniform) 64-40 to clinch a semifinal seat in the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)-Cebu Basketball League 2019-2020 playoff game for the last semifinal slot at the Capitol Parish Gym.

CEBU City, Philippines – The RP Mora Dribblers secured its spot to the semifinal round following a 64-40 bashing over the undermanned Amigos in the playoffs round of the  PICPA (Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants)-Cebu Basketball League 2019-2020 at the Capitol Parish Gym on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020.

In what was perceived to be a dog fight from start to finish, to determine which team will complete the cast of semifinalist protagonists, turned to be a one-sided game for Mora who had Jacon Bonsocan erupting early. RP Mora quickly jumped to a 16-10 in the opening quarter then outscored Amigos 9-7 in the second period to build an 8-point gap at the halftime bend.

Determined to improve its team standing, RP Mora then broke the game wide open with a wicked 16-3 blast to build a 41-20 lead entering the final period. With RP Mora getting its shots sinking, Amigos tried to catch up with long bombs but their treys came too late as they suffered its third loss in eight games.

Bonsocan scored the game-high 18 points, and Dondon Santiago and Luis Fajardo contributed 11 and 10 points respectively for RP Mora while Dann Ronielle Sarnillo was the lone player from Team Amigos to notch a double-digit scoring with 15 markers. However on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, it will be an uphill climb for the Mora Dribblers who will need to play top seed Tso & Co. which finished the elimination round with the best 7-1 win-loss record, in the main game, following the second-best finisher COA Enablers vs. no.3 team Strikers game at 1 PM, in the knockout semifinal matches.

The Enablers finished the elimination phase with 6-2 win-loss slate while the Strikers, Mora Dribblers and Amigos had 5-3 cards. Also competing in the tournament were RC Galo which has a 3-5 win-loss record and Hoppers, LCC Lakers and MG Motors holding identical 2-6 win-loss records.

The competition was organized by CPA-Lawyer Reiner Mora along with John Siegfred Agraviador, Rengie Galo, Jermie Plaza, Venencio Oyangoren Jr., Ramil Oliveros, Andrake Canete, Michael Jomuad and Alben Zabala. The tournament commissioner is Mamay Puzon.
