BERTA OF CEBU: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH OUR LOVING GOD

Each story of recovery is a story worth sharing as each individual journey sometimes is considered short of a miracle. But BIG MIRACLES do happen and one of the most inspiring and amazing stories is the story of Berta who has gone viral in social media and was featured in Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho.

I was very proud and privileged to finally meet a fellow overcomer who underwent an incredible, miraculous transformation in SAFEHAVEN RECOVERY VILLAGE. Robert Plando or better known as “Berta of Cebu” was a school teacher who became a street dwelller/beggar/drug user for 20 years! The extreme constrast is irrefutable! Our gratitude goes out to blogger Anton Camilo and former Safehaven staff Vince Hall who were both instrumental in bringing Berta to Safehaven, as well as the facility CEO and President Pastor Ronnie delos Santos and the entire Safehaven staff.  He is now drug-free and is a staff in the recovery center. How amazing is our God! You took “US” who were broken, hurting, lonely and suffering and made us whole again!

Just like me (an ex-actor and model who slept on the streets because of my addiction), Berta is undeniable, living proof that NO ONE IS HOPELESS! Thank you Jesus for everyone You have saved. We are forever grateful!
