Time to overhaul electric coops and review the EPIRA law, specifically the role and leadership of electric cooperatives are concerned.
There is a need to professionalize the leadership of electric cooperatives by imposing standards on the members of the board.
There is also a need to address the difficulties of electric cooperatives in procuring supply- assessing franchise areas of low demand to “even” out with more profitable areas, perhaps even allowing successful electric cooperatives to take over the franchise areas of low performing electric coops.
Much has to be done to guarantee reliable and affordable power for our consumers. (PR)
