HINULAWAN COLOURS is the first in a series of future art exhibitions by the newly organized TOLEDO NEO ARTISTS GROUP (TNAG), a group of visual artists based in Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines.
“Hinulawan ” is a contraction of two Visayan words hinaguang bulawan (hin+ulawan = Hinulawan). It was later changed to Toledo when the Spaniards arrived in the place, replicating that of a town in Spain.
TOLEDO NEO ARTISTS GROUP (TNAG) is a collaborative organization of artists with shared ideologies working together to support and promote art works through shared workspace, materials, promotional efforts, advocacy, and communal activities.
Their debut exhibition was on display at the Toledo City Mega Dome on December 07, 2022 during the inaugural ceremony for the holiday festivities, marking it as a milestone for the group’s introduction to the community and its recognition by the Toledo City government.
All works in both exhibitions feature mundane sceneries of the group’s hometown, portraying reality as they view it while displaying the many styles and media that showcase each artist’s different approach to his/her craft.
TNAG aims to showcase the skills of a selection of homegrown artists, both emerging and established, who merit exposure to a wider audience. While thematically highlighting their roots, such artists promote interest in Toledo City through their creative work.
From December 12, 2022 to January 8, 2023, explore the Hinulawan Colours on display at the 3rd floor, City Wing SM Seaside City Cebu near the Ice Skating Rink. (PR)
