By: Lemuel P. Maglinte

Exciting mixed martial arts action returns to Cebu as CityKings Fight League stages its first edition dubbed as ‘Prospect’ on February 18 at the old Sacred Heart Gym along Mango Avenue, Cebu City.
Fight fans will get an added excitement and thrill in this amateur MMA tournament as fighters will now battle inside the ring.
“The goal is to showcase the prospecting talents in MMA, Submission Grappling and Kickboxing from the Queen City of the South,” said Duane Gacasan, fight promoter.
Even if it’s only an amateur MMA card, the tournament will pit top prospects and rising combat hopefuls coming from all around Cebu.
In the main event, veteran striker Mark Cuizon of Deftac Vagabond MMA takes on journeyman Isaac Dela Cruz of Lapu-Lapu Strikers.
In the equally exciting supporting bout, two of Cebu’s rising talents in Tim Rama of Deftac and Francis Pasayloon of Studio 32 will figure out in a three-round MMA war.
Also, ONE Championship fighter Roel Rosauro of Survival MMA locks horns with Jiu Jitsu blue belt Rex Barrientos of Deftac Cebu in an All-Submission grappling showdown.
In the undercard, Marcus Congmon and Daeryoung Kim of Deftac take on their respective foes in Mio Tayurang of Fraction Fitness and Geno Padilla of Malawian MMA.
Strive CCA’s EJ Patron also faces fellow budding fighter Rico Tibon of Malawian MMA, while Lourence Pendejito of JB Dream Fitness Gym wages war with Bonifacio Gelbolingo of Fraction Fitness and Keith Sumalinog of Lapu-Lapu Striker will trade blows with John Carlo Alumios of Survival MMA.
“This will serve as a grassroots program for MMA here in Cebu,” added Gacasan.
