INCHEON, South Korea – The RP Blu Girls stayed on course for a spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2023 Word Softball Championship Asia Cup, and an outright World Cup berth after an 8-1 shellacking over Singapore, 8-1. This was a good bounce back win of the team after absorbing a 0-5 loss to world number 3 Chinese –Taipei.

“It was a great test of character for the team, and they passed it with flying colors. It was easy for them to give up after the loss to Chinese-Taipei, but they showed their resolve in today’s game against Singapore and I’m glad they are back to their winning ways, said ASAPHIL President Jean Henri Lhuillier

RP Blu Girls leaned again on the excellent work of their pitchers, limiting the fast-improving Singapore squad to a single run. The team also had field day peppering the Singaporean pitchers with hits resulting to 8 runs in just 5 innings.

“I just told the girls to just move on from the loss to Chinese-Taiperi and just focus on the next game. We’re taking it one game at a time, and they delivered. I am confident we will make it to the semis and grab one of the 4 World Cup slot.”, said RP Blu Girls Coach, Randy Dizer

The victory improved the Philippines win-loss record to 4-1 and has the inside track to getting one of 4 World Cup slots.
