MANILA, Philippines – Philippine chess prodigy Antonella Berthe ” Tonelle” Murillo Racasa is set to embark on a journey to become the next Filipino Woman International Master.
The Mandaluyong City national master is focusing to secure WIM norms by playing in more overseas tournaments against highly rated chess players.
“We all know how difficult it is to become a WIM. But with the support of my family and sponsors like Hotel Sogo, I can reach my dream,” said the 15-years-old Racasa.
Racasa will embark on a series of international competitions, starting with the Dubai International Open Chess Tournament scheduled from May 27 to June 4 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The tournament will feature top-rated players from all over the world as from Russia, America, Europe, China, Vietnam, and the Middle East players.
Racasa is also set to compete in Eastern Asia Youth this July in Hainan, China, and the World Youth Chess Championships this November 12-25 in Montesilvano, Italy.
