Watsons Beauty and Wellness Run on May 27

CEBU City, Philippines – Run Rio Philippines promises a one-of-a-kind running event on May 27.

 

The Watsons Race for Wellness – The Beauty Adventure in Cebu City is a unique race that will start at 5PM and will culminate in a festive mood that will feature beauty queens, music, and DJs.

 

There are only two categories to be competed – the 10K and 5K. No sub-categories are listed in the race, except for the Male and Female Divisions.

 

Cash Prize will be handed to the top winners in both categories, and since it is afternoon and volume of vehicle traffic is expected to be heavy, the organizers are declaring a cut-off time of 3 hours for the 10K race and one hour for the 5K runners.

 

Gun time will be at 5PM for 10K and 6PM for the 5K race.

“This race is a blend of beauty, sports, rave and excitement. We bring this race here after a successful event in Manila where we have gathered 5,600 participants,” explained Abbie Aranda of the race organizer Run Rio Philippines, during the press launching held at the Cebu Grand Hotel on Tuesday noon.

 

 

 

Aranda was joined by the race director Rommel Ballester and Logistics head John Paul Aranda at the press launching this afternoon at the Cebu Grand Hotel in Escario St.

 

The organizers are expecting around three thousand runners to compete in the race, this includes one thousand runners who have already registered and the around 500 Watson’s employees who will be competing alongside the regular runners and running club members.

 

The race will start in front of the Pedro Calungsod Chapel and will end at the Block 15 of SM Seaside Mall.

 

Registration is still ongoing in all Watson’s outlets in Cebu, the Cebu City Sports Center and online registration at RaceRooster.com. Registration fee is P1,200 (P1,100 for the early birds) for the 10K race and P1000 (for the 5K event, discount of P50 for the early bird.).
